Sonia & John

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 15 August 2026

This is the personal wedding website of Sonia and John. We use it only to invite our guests, collect RSVPs, and share the details of our day. This page explains what we collect, where it goes, and what you can ask us to do with it. This is a private celebration, not a business.

What we collect

Only what we need to invite you and plan the day:

  • Your name.
  • Your email address, and your phone number if you give us one. The phone number is optional.
  • Whether you are coming, which of our celebrations you plan to attend, and any message you send with your RSVP.
  • Practical details for the day: how many people your invitation admits, your table if we assign one, and — on the wedding day itself — the time you were checked in at the door and which of our ushers checked you in.
  • Your computer's IP address, briefly, so we can limit how often the RSVP form can be submitted and slow down anyone trying to guess our admin password. It is not used to identify you or build a profile.

We do not use cookies, analytics, advertising trackers, or social media pixels. Visiting this site does not send a request to any third party — even the fonts are served from our own domain.

How we use it

  • To send you your invitation and the details of the day.
  • To manage RSVPs, seating, and check-in at the door.
  • To reply to you and answer your questions.
  • To send a reminder shortly before the wedding, and a thank-you afterwards.

That is the whole list. We do not sell your information, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.

Your invitation link

Each guest gets a private link to their own invitation page, which shows their name, what their invitation admits, their table, and the QR code used at the door.

That link contains a random code. It is not built from your name, email, or phone number, so it cannot be guessed from anything you have shared with us, and it does not reveal anything about you to anyone who does not already have the link. Please treat it as yours — anyone you forward it to can see your invitation details.

Messages we send

We contact you by email about our wedding, and only about our wedding. If we also use WhatsApp or SMS, those messages will go only to people we have personally invited, at a number they gave us.

  • To stop emails, reply to any message from us and ask to be removed.
  • To stop WhatsApp or SMS, reply STOP and we will not message that number again.

Where your information is held

We use a small number of well-known services to run the site and send our messages. They handle your information only to provide that service to us:

  • Cloudflare — hosts the website and the database holding the guest list.
  • Resend — delivers our emails.
  • Google — a copy of RSVP responses is kept in a private spreadsheet we use for planning.

Our database is hosted in Europe and our email provider operates internationally, so your details may be stored or processed outside Nigeria.

How long we keep it

Until shortly after the wedding, plus a little time for thank-yous. After that we delete the guest list and the check-in records. We may keep the private planning spreadsheet as a personal keepsake of who celebrated with us.

Your choices

Email us at [email protected] and we will:

  • tell you what we hold about you,
  • correct anything that is wrong,
  • delete your details, or
  • stop messaging you.

Just ask — there is no form to fill in. If you ask us to delete your details before the day, we will, though we may need your name at the door to welcome you in.

Children

This site is for our invited guests. We do not knowingly collect information from children; where a child is attending, their details reach us through their parent or guardian's RSVP.

Changes and contact

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and the date at the top. For anything at all, write to [email protected].
